2011 Cadillac CTS…
…delivers art, style and performance.
“The CTS Coupe extends Cadillac’s emerging performance credentials. The CTS Coupe’s standard powertrain consists of a direct injected 3.6L V-6 and six-speed manual transmission. Free test drives. . .
…right here in Green Bay!
“If you’ve been to an auto show, it’s probably because you think it’s cool to be able to touch the shiny cars and even sit inside them. But wouldn’t it be even cooler if you actually got to drive them? If General Motors has its way, that’s exactly what you’ll get to do.According to the Detroit News, “The company is in discussions with Cobo Center and Detroit officials about setting up a street course near Cobo to allow the public to test-drive select models during the North American International Auto Show next month.”
Though this is a relatively new idea, Detroit won’t be the first time GM has allowed consumers to get behind the wheel. The Detroit News reports that Cadillac conducted more than 1,400 test drives at the New England International Auto Show in Boston.” Source: GM to Allow Consumer Test Drives at Auto Shows – U.S. News Rankings and Reviews

Subaru heads for a record year…
…enjoying a 13% sales increase.
“Over the years, Subaru, the automotive unit of Japan’s Fuji Heavy Industries, has carved out an image as a carmaker that goes its own way. While larger Japanese rivals have won plaudits for building reliable but sometimes dull cars, Subaru has specialized in making sporty all-wheel-drive cars and SUVs powered by turbocharged boxer engines. In 2009, Subaru is standing out from the crowd for another reason: Unlike most other automakers, it’s enjoying hot sales. Through the end of October, Subaru sold 176,000 cars in the U.S., a rise of 13% on a year earlier. That’s all the more impressive given the slump of the wider market, which is down 25%. What’s more, among automakers that have sold more than 20,000 vehicles, only Korea’s Hyundai and its subsidiary Kia—both benefiting from the weak Korean currency—have expanded sales at faster clips. “You might be surprised to see such drastic improvement in results,” Ikuo Mori, Fuji Heavy’s president said at press conference on Nov. 2. “We’ve got some good cars.”" Source: Subaru: Japan’s Hottest Car Company – BusinessWeek

Jaguar Wimps Out…
…so does Mercedes-Benz.
“Last month, during a discussion with journalists about General Motors’ new “May the Best Car Win” marketing campaign, Bob Lutz laid down the challenge to any journalist to a duel with the Cadillac CTS-V to see if any comparable car could topple the Caddy. The guys at Jalopnik were the first to accept the challenge, putting forward Wes Siler, who we would later find out would compete in a 510 horsepower 2010 Jaguar XFR.
Not so apparently. Jaguar’s PR team have reportedly backed out of the challenge, which is scheduled to take place this Thursday at the Monticello Motor Club in Monticello, N.Y.” Source: Jaguar Wimps Out Of Cadillac CTS-V Challenge – MotorAuthority

CTS-V Coupe a “no brainer” …
…according to Automotive News.
“Performance fans, wagon fans, Cadillac fans, crazy dads who want to lug around kids in a 550 horsepower (check!) wagon – take notice, your car is coming. Initially, the CTS debuted as only a sedan, and then the CTS-V performance variant was introduced. For it’s second generation, while debuting as a sedan first, Cadillac saw the error of it’s ways and developed coupe and wagon variants as well.” Source: Cadillac CTS-V Sportwagon To See Light of Day
