Read about “Chicken Plucking” secrets of success

“Do you want to know the real secret of success?

Okay, I’ll tell you. But first I want you to meet my grandparents. They lived in the heart of West Virginia. As a child, I spent many long summer days at their home, running in the wide green yard and splashing through the creek looking for crawdads. I’d play until my grandmother called me in for dinner. ” Source: The “Chicken Plucking” Secret of Success | Copyblogger

May you “pluck your way” to success in 2010!

Check out a new way to being awakened in the New Year!

“For tons of people, the hardest part of the day is getting up in the morning. This causes a natural and passionate hatred to alarm clocks. Personally, I really can’t stand these things because they rip me out of the most awesome, adventurous dreams and frankly, I am in a much better mood when I wake naturally.” Source: Google Reader (1000+)

Traveling with “wee ones”

“Traveling with small children has a lot of challenges. From the near constant complaining about being uncomfortable and thirsty to the incessant need to see every bathroom along the way, it is a wonder that anyone survives. But, everyone does it because family holidays are fun. They are supposed to be fun right?

Too often what could be great memories are overshadowed by the stress of just keeping the kids from killing each other. I am not going to tell you that I can make a long car or plane trip pleasant or instruct you to happily sing songs in the front seat to spread your joy around. That is all crazy talk. What you can do is try a few things that might make the portion of your holiday you spend confined in a small space with your offspring bearable.” Source: Google Reader (1000+)

Is it time to go back to school yet?

Subaru helps spread Christmas cheer

“A Subaru Forester is set to be driven all the way to Lapland to make a special delivery to Santa Claus.

Sarah Turner of Hingham in Norfolk is getting behind the wheel for the epic journey as Subaru links up with a local charity to help spread some Christmas cheer.

Ms Turner will hand-deliver a parcel of Christmas letters to Santa written by children who are cared for by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).” Source: Subaru Forester set for Santa Lapland visit – Carmony

Keep Your Child Safe…

…according to the current edition of the journal Pediatrics.

“Children in booster seats have roughly half the risk of injury during a car accident as those who are only using a seat belt, according to a study by the Center for Injury Research and Prevention at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.” Source: Car Booster Seats Cut Injury Risk in Half – KickingTires

Justine Lodl, executive Director of the Center for Childhood Safety recommends, “adjust the safety harness or seat belts each time, don’t adjust and leave as is because clothing or other factors can alter the fit of the harness or seat belts to your child in the seat.”

It’s Family Friendly

Thinking safety? Think Subaru…

“Some families still want a good traditional station wagon. Especially when they learn they’re about to have twins.

Reader Ari Bajtner noticed the 2010 Subaru Outback review on our sister site FamilyCarGuide.com, and shot us a note. He writes, “Hey! My wife is expecting twins in April 2010. As our family is about to double, we will need a family car for mom, dad, and twins.” Source: 2010 Subaru Outback: Buyer Asks about Child Seats – The Car Connection

Oh, and by the way, did I mention safety?

“One of Subaru’s best-known safety features is the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive that comes standard on each and every Outback Subaru. As the commercials mention, it’s part of “what makes a Subaru, a Subaru.” Aside from the security of having four drive wheels, ConsumerGuide reviewers find that “available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain side airbags, and front side airbags.” TheCarConnection.com’s editors add that seatbelt pre-tensioners are included on all 2010 Subaru Outbacks, and a nifty Hill Holder feature simplifies manual-transmission hill starts. One of the Outback Subaru’s few safety options, according to Autoblog, is a “very crisp rear-view camera” that comes with the available navigation system. With a corporate history deeply rooted in the always-dangerous sport of rally racing, it’s no surprise that Subaru has become so good at developing world-class safety systems.” Source: 2010 Subaru Outback Safety Review – The Car Connection
