Sometimes you just like a car.” Source: Review: Cadillac CTS sport wagon is just so darn likable – USATODAY.com

But it’s safe to say there was nothing else like the Maharani Special.
Built by General Motors for its 1956 Motorama show, a traveling exhibition of extravagant dream cars and the latest in automotive technology, this Cadillac was loaded with conveniences intended to serve an on-the-go potentate with a hearty appetite. ” Source: Collecting – V-8, Power Steering, Even a Kitchen Sink – NYTimes.com

The future is now!

“Business must be going well for the American car manufacturer Cadillac. This year we can expect the CTS-V Coupé to hit the streets. At the Detroit Auto Show they showed us this XTS Platinum Concept. A four-door luxury saloon combining a 3.5 liter V6 with a hybrid power source. Output should be around 353bhp together with 400Nm of torque.Via this concept Cadillac is aiming to join the group of most comfortable cars on the US market. At the inside you can expect many gadgets such as buttons that appear and disappear by simply using touchscreen technology. In the back you will get the feeling of a limousine because of the large legroom. The interior is finished with several stylish added wooden parts. ” Source: Cadillac XTS Platinum Concept – GTSPIRIT.COM

GM’s Ed Piatek on Cadillac’s V series

“What makes a V-series car, and what can you not do with a Cadillac V?
The CTS-V Coupe is really the fourth or fifth generation of V. We started with the original CTS-V, STS, XLR-V, and now the CTS-V sedan and coupe. Consistent throughout these has been the application of performance and technology. It can’t be punishing. We want performance without the punishment. I think the key there is a bimodal character where you can get in the car and it’s got the poise and composure to be driven every day, like a luxury car has to be. It’s a Cadillac at the end of the day. But you want to be able to have track capabilities, acceleration performance among the best cars in the world. That’s where we’ve developed a bandwidth with V-series where the car truly is track capable right out of the box. And at the same time, it’s a car that you can drive every day without feeling like you’re in some kind of numbers-producing car with all the noise insulation removed.

2011 Cadillac CTS…
…delivers art, style and performance.
“The CTS Coupe extends Cadillac’s emerging performance credentials. The CTS Coupe’s standard powertrain consists of a direct injected 3.6L V-6 and six-speed manual transmission. Direct injection technology delivers fuel more precisely to increase the efficiency of combustion, enabling more power while maintaining fuel economy and lowering emissions – including a 25-percent drop in cold-start hydrocarbon emissions.” Source: 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe | Motoring News

The 2010 Cadillac SRX offers…
…premium power but uses regular gasoline!
“The second generation of Cadillac’s SRX luxury crossover is here. Or should that be “second iteration”? For while it is still Cadillac’s entry in the mid-sized luxury crossover class, the 2010 SRX shares nothing but its name with the vehicle that debuted back in model year 2004.Surprisingly, it’s a smaller, less-expensive vehicle.
Or maybe that’s not so surprising, given the volatility in fuel prices, changes in government fuel economy standards, concern over greenhouse gas emissions, and economic turmoil that seems to pass for early 21st Century reality.
Don’t think that “smaller and less-expensive” is synonymous with the pejorative “cheaper” here. Cadillac made that mistake once, long ago, and isn’t about to do that again. And parent General Motors is in no position allow, or even tolerate that, either. The 2010 SRX is a true Cadillac, and offers distinctive styling, good performance and fuel economy, and fine road manners that allow it to compete with the best from Japan, Germany, and the U.S.A. ” Source: 2010 Cadillac SRX 3.0 AWD Performance Review

“If you’ve been to an auto show, it’s probably because you think it’s cool to be able to touch the shiny cars and even sit inside them. But wouldn’t it be even cooler if you actually got to drive them? If General Motors has its way, that’s exactly what you’ll get to do.According to the Detroit News, “The company is in discussions with Cobo Center and Detroit officials about setting up a street course near Cobo to allow the public to test-drive select models during the North American International Auto Show next month.”
Though this is a relatively new idea, Detroit won’t be the first time GM has allowed consumers to get behind the wheel. The Detroit News reports that Cadillac conducted more than 1,400 test drives at the New England International Auto Show in Boston.” Source: GM to Allow Consumer Test Drives at Auto Shows – U.S. News Rankings and Reviews

The last coupe to come from the American luxury brand was the XLR which was based upon the Corvette. This new CTS is will do battle with German competitors to get buyers looking for a mid level luxury coupe. The new Cadillac CTS Coupe is edgy and attractive from every angle. Most notable is the rear design with the mid form lay out of the exhaust which is super aggressive. The stance of the car sits two inches lower than the Cadillac CTS sedan which provides a more sporty stance for the vehicle. ” Source: Cadillac CTS Coupe set to do battle with European brands
